Then of course there needs to be some amount of profit otherwise no one makes them (leaving whoever is left to set whatever price they want). you've also got the costs of SMD assembly (again in low quantities) to make the circuit small enough to fit in the connectors or whatever. the latvian seller doesnt use these (hes got a moulded one, but at least its better than the dodgy atx plug that bends the plug pins that emance ebay seller has)Īnd as others have said, youve got a circuit rather than straight thru, inside the connectors on the ecutalk usb/ecutalk serial/blazt serial cables (and inside the box on the plms serial and under the heatshrink on the blazt/plms/latvian usb ones). Its not a straight thru cable, the cables are relatively low quantity (which is expensive compared to making 100000 in china), and the proper connector (like on the ecutalk, blazt, plms cables) is relatively expensive for a piece of plastic, ~£5.
